Advantages: Great graphics, great fun

Disadvantages: its table tennis how long can that last

When i first heard a table tennis game was headed for the 360 i wasn't interested at all. When heard rockstar were doing it i became a little more intrigued. Rockstar are most well known for the Grand Theft Auto series. This game couldnt be any more different.
I bought it all the same as it was budget title so fairly cheap.
The first thing i noticed was that the graphics are simply incredible. The best of its time. The player movements are simply sensational. From facial expressions, to the way their shirts waft as they take their shots. Or the shadow of the ball as it flies accross the table. The graphics are great, especially for a table tennis game.
The gameplay is also actually suprisingly good. Its more complex and in depth than you first think. Each coloured face button controls a different type of spin. Top spin, backspin, left spin and right spin. You have to choose your spin and also plae your shot, different spin for different cirmumstances, for example counter spin on an opponents shot. Its fairly addictive The best part is when a rally can last hundreds of shots which becomes really intense as the lights dumb down and the play speeds up to a ridiculous degree. It can be really fun.
As for lifespan im not so sure. There is plenty to master to keep you keen, but i found once i completed the tournaments the only thing that kept me coming back was xbox live. Which is good playing 1v1 or in tournaments accross the net gives you a feeling of achivement. However lag can be patchy at best and i feel its more fun playing 1v1 local on one xbox.
So all in all a great table tennis game, but theres only so far table tennis can go.

Summary: great game but at the end of the day its table tennis
