Advantages: Exciting storyline, progressive powers, good fun to use the powers!
Disadvantages: Too linear, autosave a pain!
The Darkness is a game that may seem a little strange at first but soon sucks you in. You play Jackie Estacado, who upon reaching his 21st birthday, is granted the power of The Darkness. He is the nephew of Paulie, the head of a Mafia clan running the streets of New York. Suddenly he finds himself at odds with Uncle Paulie, who now wants him dead. With his new powers to hand, you explore the streets of New York as well as going back in time.
The game itself is very dark, as you soon find you have to make it so, and is very intriguing as well as fun. Rated 18 for violence and language it is a must-play game for anyone who enjoys being creeped out at two in the morning! The only things i can complain at was that there weren't enough sidequests, plus the autosave feature became a problem when you get stuck cos you either have to restart the chapter or keep doing the same bit over and over till you pass through it, and i felt some of the puzzles required far too much thought!! All in all though its a definate buy for all older 360 gamers!
Summary: Excellent game, good fun, requires thought as well as skill.

- 29/09/07 Welcome to dooyoo.
If you want higher ratings you need to add more info on things like what you do in the game (e.g. is it a RPG, First Person Shooter or a Strategy game?), the graphics (e.g. is there any slowdown, how do the characters look and what do the the enviroments look like), the sound (e.g. soundtrack, effects, voice acting etc.) and how much content there is (e.g. how long did it take you to finish, were there any side missions and was there online play?). If you need any more advice send me a PM. |
