The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Xbox 360)
Advantages: Hundreds hours of game play, Big new open world to explore, Entertaining main quest line
Disadvantages: Has been very buggy, The same voice actors are used for multiple characters
Welcome to my review I would like to start of my review my saying that Elders Scrolls Skyrim is one of the most anticipated video game titles of 2011. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion was sold with my console. I really enjoyed the way how the game played. You could spent hours exploring and questing it was like nothing that I have experienced in a video game before.
I pre ordered Elder Scrolls Skryim about four months before the release date of 11/11/11 I pre ordered the normal version of the game there was a limited edition of Elder Scrolls Skyrim but I wanted to save money and did not think it was worth paying the extra for the limited edition.
Pros and Cons
1.Hundreds hours of game play
2.Big new open world to explore
3. Entertaining main quest line
4. Hundreds of side quests
5. Improved levelling system
6. Good graphics
1. Has been very buggy
2. The same voice actors are used for multiple characters
Like I said in the introduction I have really been looking forward to new instalment in the series, even know I'm not a hardcore fan I'm more of a newer fan to the Elder Scroll series. Never the less I think that even if your new to Elder scrolls or a seasoned fan I think that you will still enjoy the latest instalment.
I have been really impressed with the storyline the main quest has a lot of twists and turns, I really did not expect what happens. I did know the basic details that I have seen in the trailers the dragons but I did not expect what happens in the main quest so I have got to say the main quest kept me on my toes.
The side quests are very good too just as good as the main quest, I really enjoyed following the storyline for the guilds.
List of guilds in Elder Scrolls Skyrim
1. Dark Bortherhood
2. Various Colleges
3. The Companions
4. Imperial Legion
6. Nightingale Sentinels
7. Various NPC Factions
As you would expect in Elder Scrolls games whilst your out adventuring and questing you get ask by NPCS (Non player character) to complete quests for them or do them favours but I feel that this helps to add hours to the game. Now that I have completed the main quest I am still left with a long list of extra quests left by NPCS which I'm going to happily work my way through.
I have got to say that the game play is very entertaining, I think that I'm addicted to playing Skyrim and I'm not the only person who is addicted. Friends of mine are addicted too, I don't blame then really, what happens to me is that I start a quest then I start making my way to the start of the quest but then I find myself getting distracted sometimes I get distracted by well anything lol sometimes I stumble upon a cave so I go and venture into the cave and I find myself half an hour later leaving the cave and wondering what I'm going to do next competely forgetting that I was heading to start a quest.
It's funny that there is so much to do in Skyrim like I said you can go questing, you can go murder everyone that you see in sight. I guess in the end you can go whatever you like just about in game. You could say that you live in Skyrim I have spent 80+ hours playing since I got the game and thats quite low compared to some other players.
Skyrim uses the companies latest game engine called "Creation Engine" the graphics are very good they have clearly made improvement from Oblivion but saying that the graphics in Ovlibion were very good. I feel that one of the best way that the graphics show is in the environments. Sometimes I have noticed myself stopping just to look at the environment.
Value for money
The game currently is selling for brand new for about £40 new, I paid about £42 for the game on release date the game has not dropped very much I think that the popular games keep there price well.
I feel that despite the expensive price you will get your moneys worth because there is so much to do in Skyrim.
I'm addicted to Skyrim the other day I started playing in the afternoon and did not stop until I checked the time at 1 am. It's the best game that I have played in 2011. I recommend this game to you.
*5 Stars = Excellent*
Summary: Skyrim will take game play up in to the Sky, you got to hold on
