This game was originally released in 2006, although it feels much older. It's a strategy/shooting/driving game based on the first Godfather film. This is a really, really weird idea. The Godfather, popular thought it is, is a thematically rich and emotionally complex film about the mafia. It really isn't something that one would think of as a potential computer game. One might as well make a game out of Amadeus, or 2001: A Space Odyssey. The games industry is slowly becoming more and more like the film industry. As the expense and sophistication of making games increases the audience and producers demand more bang for their buck. Many films such as ‘Gears of War’ achieve cinematic qualities by seamlessly having cut scenes in the game and make the audio and visual tricks more filmesque. However, for a completely more lazy type of games creator there is a shortcut, how about making a game of a film? Film adaptations have been part of the gaming community since the very beginning (remember ET?). Now producers have started to produce games of classic films. Will ‘The Godfather’ stink up your console ... Read the complete review

The Godfather is seen by many as one of the greatest films of all time, with Electronic Arts announcement of acquiring the rights to this film, many did not know what to expect. As more and more of the original stars signed up to reprise their roles, one thing was for sure, it was going to be big and big this game is. The game is set across New York City circa 1945, which has been split into 5 separate territories, Little Italy, Brooklyn, Hell's Kitchen, New Jersey and Midtown. Each part has been populated with mobsters, general public, cops, shops and warehouses, each playing a role in your game at some point. Your character, who you can design ... Read the complete review
