Advantages: Great storyline, fun combat system, beautiful game

Disadvantages: Lack of customisation and freedom if you're picky

Firstly, I'm playing this on a slightly above average gaming system on the highest settings. The game runs great, unless your computer is completly outdated I really doubt you'll have problems playing. The game features a few extras which weren't included in the 360 version, notably wield stance, basically a nice addon to extend customization but nothing too serious. The control layout is simple, works nice using the keyboard, keyboard and mouse, and gamepad (fully intergrates the 360 controllers for pc). The learning curve isn't steep at all, with short tips occuring within the first few missions to help you get going. Now with the rest of the review...

The main thing about this game is that it seems 'convienient', which I personally love. It allows you to save at any time, having teleporters at the ends of missions and healing after every mission, this may deter your hardcore RPG fans, however it gives so much more then that.

The graphics are great, standard for any competetive RPG. The soundtrack lives up to that, soothing yet aggressive when need be. The voice acting is great in English and Japanese and the story progresses nicely, which you'll immediately catch onto, learning about the cities and the area straight away so you don't feel like an outcast. The game is free roaming to a point, it's usually mission, explore for a bit, mission etc. till the end. This brings me on to the customisation and freedom, it's all based around the main missions, no individual side quests as such but there is a guild system which gives you aims and rewards if you complete them, for example. Have a member of your party with Strength 21+. You can choose your weapon, build them out of various components (loot mainly), accessories and an item for your offhand, but that's it. No change of armor or the like, which isn't really a set back.

The combat system is unique to this game, featuring units and larger scale battles then any RPG turn based combat that I've seen. The fighting is awesome to put it bluntly, and to emphasise on that, with mutiple units you can flank, set different formations and intercept charging enemies which adds a lovely tactic element to the game which saves you powerleveling everything you see (you might still do that as it doesn't seem to get boring).

Summary: Great game, almost unique for the PC, must try
