Advantages: Interesting gameplay in all aspects. Replay value

Disadvantages: Story is forgotten within the details of the missions

I'm a fan of shooter games but was not as excited about this as I should have been, I was put off by my experience with the previous Advanced War Fighter games. But after playing this for a week I can see its a amazing game with more complexity than just run about shooting everything like the Modern Warfare games.

You play a member of a spec ops unit in the near future. You get sent on various missions during the story which involve stealth, teamwork, vehicle moments and of course fire fights. There are only a few points where the game decides when to be stealthy or aggressive but other than that you can play how you like and the game will reward you with points depending on how well you do in either case. You have several gadgets to use like sensor grenades that find enemies, x-ray goggles that detect metal and flying or driving drones to recon the area as well as a impressive selection on weapons which can be fully customized in a great exploded view menu. There are also challenges during the campaign which unlock extra weapon mods if completed, if not there are still lots of options to choose from. The missions are varied with different features and take place in lots of environments to keep things interesting and it looks amazing. All the characters that direct your team to places tend to confuse the story which I thought got a bit lost. The AI isn't bad either although they mainly just help with sync shots and fire fights but only if directed.

The game also features co-op game play and online either co-op or versus. Co-op does make the game more fun as the team is smarter than the AI and improves the experience. I haven't played versus so I can't comment on that. Nor have I tried the Kinnect features but I understand its only the weapon mod menu.

Overall defiantly worth a look as a fan of shooters. Its in between the operation flashpoint games and Modern Warfare the open terrain and freedom of execution is a good feature MW lacks. The prices are down to about £20 already depending where you go so even for a filler game its good.

Summary: Worth trying if you like shooters, Don't be put off by the last two games.
