With the sequel coming out this week, lets reminiscent of its predecessor. Rainbow Six Vegas is the fifth title in the series, which has had a little bit of bumpy ride. From its illustrious beginning on the PC, to its disappointing Arcade counterpart on the consoles, to the absolutely dreadful Xbox game that thankfully didn't get released in the UK (poor Americans...). That was released in the same year as this game, by the way, so it's not surprising that people really thought 'holy crap, duck!' when this was announced. Now more than a year later though, it seems everyone who though that was wrong as it turned out to be a superb game in the same vein as the magnificent . Read the complete review

As, one evening late last year, I finished playing the latest incarnation of Ubisoft's other best-selling franchise, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, I commented in jest to friend and devoted fan of the games company that one might be forgiven for wondering whether they are against innovation as a matter of principle. With this in mind, I approached Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, with somewhat low expectations. For years this franchise has been endlessly recycled for sequel after sequel with few gestures towards substantial improvement, and it seemed sensible to assume that this would be no different. It was, therefore, something of a surprise when I became ... Read the complete review

I remember buying the original Rainbow Six for PC when it first came out... I installed it, and was promptly greeted with a big fat error message. It didn't work. Although I managed to get this amazing and revolutionary game installed at a friends house, he never gave me the disc back when I got a new computer (turns out he'd scratched it up beyond recognition). So, from that point onwards I was pretty resentful about the whole series (and my former friend). What this has to do with Rainbow Six Vegas I do not know - except to note that the first game on the PC was absolutely revolutionary. Before each mission, you could assemble your plan by placing waypoints ... Read the complete review

For quite a while this game was the staple of mine and my friends online gaming diet, it is a great first person shooter and at the time of playing it i beleved it even rivaled the ledgendary goldeneye for multiplayer Game Play- The game starts in mexico as you persue a terrorist cell, this leads you to a beseiged vegas were the remainder of the game takes place, you move from casino to casio and through the streets to occomplish your misson. It would seem on he surface that the game would get samey but it doesnt as it really takes advantage of the various 'themed' casinos in vega making each one different Graphics- at the time of release ... Rainbow Six is definitely a game holding it's reputation. It has great story which grips you by the face and refuses to let go until you not only say uncle, but also name him! With that said, there was a few quirks in this game which I didn't find at all to my liking. Rainbow Six attempts to bring vocal commands into play, letting players with headsets give orders real time so that the troops alongside you can move and behave accordingly. In theory this is a brilliant idea. What better way to submerge yourself in the game then by this? But the reality is this system is heavily flawed and it LOVES to totally disregard what you were saying and then ... Read the complete review
