Those of us with kids who spend hours and hours on xboxes and wiis will know that "can't you do something else" speech that we all come out with from time to time. I decided that if you can't beat them, join them, so small child was taken to the game shop and told to select a game that the whole family could play. He picked the Pinata - I have yet to discover what a "Pinata" is but have had the best laugh and become sooo competitive I have scared myself!
Viva Pinata is made up of a selection of races and challenges - some incredibly funny - in one you drink the juice as fast as you can then see how far your burp can blow a sailing boat! Another one is how fast you can eat an apple, or how many sweeties you can gather up in a certain time.
There are 4 main pinatas - a horse, a bear, a hedgehog and a squirrelly thing and a male and female of each of them. Up to 4 players can play at any one time, depending on how many controllers you have. The points are awarded on places and at the end of the tournament (you can select a long one or a short one) the winner is the one with the most.
Being "a bit older" my eyes found it a tad difficult to keep up with the fast moving races - my horse was all over the place and I hadn't a clue what I was meant to be doing! But that is an age thing! The kids managed it the very best!
The colours are bright, the commentator is funny, some of the challenges are really really funny and when the kids go to bed, I recommend that the parents have a bit of a practice! A tip for parents - pick the bigger Pinatas - the big blue horse or the big yellow Florence the Bear as they are easier to spot in some of the games! The squirrell and the hedgehog are too small for my eyes!
This is a good all round family game.
This game is fun collection of mini games, held together as small tournaments consisting of several races with allsorts of fun quirky mini games in between.
Mini games include shooting targets, chasing sweets, knocking others out of circles, all related to the Viva Pinata world.
Only worth playing as a group, a family and to a lesser extent on xbox live, although xbox live is fully supported as well as a four player offline mode.
This game can be picked up very cheap now and is deffinetly worth the £10 price tag as a fun game to quickly pick up and play for a blast with the famliy. All ages can enjoy it, from young children due to simple controls, up to experienced gamers who will appreciate the change in pace from the usual FPS's
There are other mini-game collections out there which would be just as good as this one, Fusion Frenzy comes to mind.
But there is no real reason to purchase one over the other.
Viva Piñata Party Animals is a mini game collection for the Xbox 360 games console.
This game is nothing like the previous piñata game, which was a fun management game. This game is completely different, it is a collection of minigames.
The collection of games varies from, contests, fighting, racing and so on. They are all pretty mediocre as there are so many of them. Luckily they are all very easy to pick up and play which makes this game suitable for the whole family.
The only stand out thing in this game are the graphics, they are very colourful and bright and detailed which gives the game an excellent look.
This game is quite fun to play with your friends but there are better mini game collections out their for example Fusion Frenzy Two.
Unless you are a big fan of Viva Piñata I would advise you to steer clear of this game. You can buy this for 20 to 30 pounds if you must.
I would not normally have this game under normal circumstances, but my sister was given it for her birthday - so i decided to play it with her and give it a go.
At first it is quite a good game and particularly enjoyable for younger people and children seem to love it.
Basically, the idea of the game is that you have to choose a character and complete a race, along the way picking up power-ups, and get points for your position. At the end of each race you will also participate in a mini game - and there are loads of these which include a variety of ideas such as collecting as many sweets as you can or racing in a boat across a river!
At the end all your points are added up to an overall leaderboard.
However, this game can become rather monotonous after a while and is far more suited to a younger audience. It is certainly a nice idea, but ranks alongside the likes of Mario Kart and would be more suited to a Nintendo DS. Not up to the standards of other xbox 360 games.
Good game to buy for your kids!
The party game is based on the popular kids' cartoon and features candy-filled characters from the show. Players compete for fame and fortune in more than 50 distinct mini-games either locally or over Xbox Live.
