Fictional shooter set in the second World War, with a sci fi twist

Wolfenstein is a first person action packed Nazi killing shooter, With a sci fi twist!

Wolfenstein is from uber house id software and co developed by Raven software. The game is a sequel to "Return to castle Wolfenstein"

      Gameplay :

As mentioned above, this is a first person shooter and you play fictional character B.J Blazkowicz. The game is based in a fictional town in Germany called Isenstadt during the second World War.
Isentabdt is the main area you will be based for the entire game, You get your missions from two different groups in this town. You can buy and upgrade weapons here also. From regular machine guns to futuristic laser devices.
There are a total of nine weapons to choose from which is a good variety.

So hear comes the sci fi part, aswell as the weapons you get to find a medallion called the "Thule Medallion". With this basically your vision goes into a vivid blue glow which shows secret areas, and makes the nazis easier to see. Its kinda like a night vision camera. You can also slow down time with this device which is handy when going through traps (nothing new really)

There are also pointless little bugs floating around the sky called Geists when you are in this mode, you can shoot them if you desire or just ignore them. Sometimes they get angry and chase after you. Kinda pointless edition really.

There are collectibles throughout the game, such as special intelligence folders and bags of gold, there are a certain amount to collect in each area and you will be informed on how many to look out for. If you collect all of these you will get Achievements on your xbox 360 / Trophies on PS3

There is a multiplayer mode, but to be honest I wouldn't bother as it takes FOREVER to get into, crashes a lot and hardly anyone plays for some odd reason.

      Graphics :

The graphics are nice in parts but I do expect more really from this franchise and esp being on a next generation console. The frame rate is fine and there isn't any noticeable blurring but sometimes it does feel like a really good PS2 game

      Sound :

Oh my God its BAD!! the fake Germans voices are beyond funny, sounds like a cheap porn movie or something from Allo Allo. The music is quite dramatic and does give it abit more depth. But nothing really exciting here.

      Overall :

This isn't the worst first person shooter ive played, nor the best. But it is quite fun and does have its moments. The Sci Fi element is pointless and makes it loose a star, its just not needed.
If it was just a straight forward Nazi shooter without this, it would be much better.

You can pick this game up now from Amazon for £9.98 and the same price at GAME. It is worth the price but would have been very disappointed if I paid full price for it.
