Burnout 3: Takedown (Xbox) ... continue to flood the market, the genre seems to be splintering apart further and further. It used to be easy. Driving games were either attempting to simulate actual driving, or they were eschewing realism in favor of a more accessible, more instantly gratifying game. But now there are even more subsets to choose from. You've got the hardcore simulations that attempt to model cars and driving as accurately as possible. There are the open-road, "choose your own route"-style of racing games, which usually give you an entire city to race in. And, more recently, there are games that focus on the import tuning scene.

... can! The crash events are ever so exciting and the graphics are superb. The cinematic replay of your crash is quite impressive. You are put in a certain car, and must drive along a part of a road before crashing at an ideal time. By doing so, you must cause the most damage and it will be totaled as the chain reactions begin. It is really fun when you get to use the buses and fire engines to crash into oncoming traffic, which is quite ironic. You can also hit multipliers and more to increase your score, making it all ...more

2004 was a very amazing year for the video game industry, eh? Just take a look at all the heavy hitters like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Halo 2, both were selling so many copies that they were making more money then most of big budget Hollywood movies. We also can't forget about other huge games like Half Life 2 and Metroid Prime 2, both of these games are winning lots acclaim as well. Unfortunately with all these big titles stealing all the spot light some gamers may missed one of the most action packed video games to come out in a long time. Here is my pick for 2004 Game of the Year: Burnout 3 Takedown! The Burnout franchise has been around for awhile ...

As a rule I would have to say I hate driving games. In fact I hate driving. When I was 17 I took something like 12 lessons. Each time I returned home my nerves were shattered, my back soaked with sweat. It’s not that I’m a bad driver; I just can’t understand the concept of going for a “nice relaxing drive”. It’s totally alien to me and as I live in London, (and have done for about 7 years) I think it unlikely that you’ll see me behind the wheel anytime in the near future. That said - one of my favourite films is Bullitt. I proudly display a model of Steve McQueens 1968 green Ford Mustang on a shelf in my bedroom. I really enjoyed Two-Lane blacktop. I ...

Its been a few months since I acquired my X Box. The main reason I really wanted on was for racing games and having won it in a competition I thought it was only fair to splash out £29.99 of my hard earned money on a game for it. I mean what use is an X Box without any games. So whilst in Tesco’s I picked up a copy of Burnout 3. It seemed the perfect solution as it had been released the same day and having briefly played Burnout 2 on the PS2 I knew it would be a pretty good game. I didn’t realise however just how addictive it was going to be. The game is built up of three different continents to race across during the Burnout World Tour. You can test yourself ...
