Advantages: Control whole team
Disadvantages: Aiming and controls
The whole Vietnam fighting genre has prtty much been done to death in gaming terms and that is where this game falls down in that it does not really offer the game player anything new or innovative, basically it has all been done before.
You play the role of Vietnam rookie Harold Kahler who is thrust into the Tet Offensive and goes out on patrol with three of his colleagues. One nice touch with this game is taht you also get to control each of the other characters and can make use of their particular combat skills.
This is not a straight out shooting game, there is a lot of combat but it does require a little thought as you will encounter snipers and there are quite a few traps to avoid. Fortunately you have a sniper in your own team and a man who makes like Rambo with a heavy machine gun.
There are a few problems with this game which on the whole detracted from the enjoyment of it. The automatic targetting function is not very efficient and can be quite frustrating at times as it looks like you are going to score a hit only to see all your bullets miss. Also you only have a very limited time to administer medical aid to a fallen comrade otherwise they are dead, I found this quite annoying and very frustrating at times. Finally some of the controls are a bit hard to get used to and it is very easy to give out the wrong order by mistake which can see your team holding fire while coming under attack.
This is a pretty average game, you do get to fly arond in copters which you control which is a nice feature but overall it was not the greatest conflict game that I have ever played and gest a six out of ten from me.
Summary: Strategy / action game
