Advantages: Possible the most realistic concole ar game, Benchmark stategy, Challenging

Disadvantages: Can be difficult, large commands available

Full spectrum warrior is a modified version of what was a US army traning tool, a simulator designed to give out the nasic of modern day combat, it uses a style of play similar to that of the likes of command an conquer, you don't shoot people, you tell your guys to go here and there, from point to point. However you do set the region at which they would lay down fire. Its sounds very basic but the depth inside its control system is immense.

At first it seems over whelming but the training nicely helps you into the game. Basically you have two fire teams, (squads of 4 men) Alpha and Bravo. You have to nabvigate your team round area's from objective to objective whether its saving injured soldiers, picking up an extra squad, charlie team, which will usually be a mission were you must escort charlie team to a certain location so they can execute an odjective or escape if you like.

The sytem at which you move your men around is a very simple one, you simple move the thumbstick and a movement cursor appears, point that at were you want to go, if you choose to take cover against a wall or behind a car lets say, a box in the bottom right corner displays the formation your team will take up once they hit that point, so you know whether they will be up against the wall or out in the open. When moving you men from point to point you can make them run there straight away, (extremly dangerous if enemies appear, you out in the open you get shot) or you can make then have fire sectors whilst moving, ie, the team will move slowly and ready for enemies appearing in the sector which you set them to be aware of. Thats the whole emphasis on this game being careful and patient, not just running around gun hoe like alot of war based games. Its all about the tactic, and the command you use. The game features a number of wepons from, maching guns to grenade launchers, smoke grenades and grenades, the usul stuff.

The graphics are fantastic on this game, truly incredible at points there alot on screen, everything nicely displayed. Its an exceptionally realistic game when it comes down to presentation. The sound are great from the grenades being launched to cars blowing up, squad members talking, they swear a few times and come out with some good lines, its quite amusing and sometimes quite atmospheric.

The view is a third person style view but the camera can be rotated to just about any position. When enemies are spotted by one of your team members they will let you know and an icon will be displayed over an enemies head, showing whether they are covered, partially covered, out in the open, or dead, its a very good system, as at some points it would be exceptionally hard to see some of he enbemies but the icons let you know exaclt where they are and where to set your teams fire sectors.

The game has mulitplayer player co-op options for Xbox live, and some downloadable content i think. Its got a great replay system that lets you run through your replays watching the bullets fly n all. When you speed up the replay the peoples voices sound like sipmunks it can be funny at first then its does get boring and you just can't bebotheref to go through the replays but at first they are a good novelty, they do allow you to see where you went wrong if you didn't know, and if you want to seriously improve all round tactis as this is quite a hard game when you increase the difficulty.

When on a mission, you have a small device which acts as a GPS map, and displayed enemies that have been located using your helicopter recon flight (helicopter gets called in and scans for enemies around your location). It displays the mission objective and also displays casevacs (medical station to take the wounded to). When a team meber gets gunned down they become unconcious if you like, you have a certain amount of time to pick them up and get them to the casevac, also at the casevac you can stock up on ammo, which is displayed as a percentage on the screen. You can set fire rate when you command people to fire either feriously, it eats the ammo though, or normally which doesn't drian the ammo but won't pin enemies down, you you use fierce fire you can pin an enemy down so they stay covered and you can flank, them with your other team, all the tatics are in there and the training show you all the methods used. it gets you right into the game.

I might rent this out as it seems to be my sort of game.
