There is a good selection of weapons avaliable not a lot but enough for variety (human and alien weapons), you can only carry two at once except for grenades and smoke grenades, and a nice array off vehicles to choose from although driving a lot of them is diffucult especially the warthog. My favourite part was that you could play the entire game co-op with a friend, spent ma...more

It was only a matter of time but here is my review of the legendary first ever Halo! Sure, as I'm writing this, Halo 3 will finally be coming out in 2007 (after literally years of waiting) I thought it would be appropriate that we look back at why everybody's has jumped on the Halo bandwagon. In the distance future there is a new war blewing between humans and a alien race called the Covenant. These aliens have launced a holy war and they have already destroyed many of Earth's space colonies. To make matters worse they just attacked your orbiting battlestation. With the remaining humans lives in serious danger and the humans secret information about the where ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Say Halo To My Huge Gun! (1456 words)

It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that all Xbox owners have, at the very least, heard of Halo. Halo is to Xbox as trunk is to tree in so many ways. Firstly there's the fact that Halo is the title responsible for single-handedly selling thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Xbox consoles in the U.S. It's also because Halo is a quintessential part of the Xbox 'X-perience' and one of only a handful of launch titles that really does show what the system is capable of. So then, what is Halo? Halo is, on the most basic of basic levels, a first person shooter (FPS) game, you know, one where you carry a gun `round and kill things. ...  Read the complete review

Well Halo what can i say, If you've got an X-Box surely you've got this, u haven't? Where you been for the past century, no I have only recently acquired this game due to the fact that I have only recently purchased an X-Box, I used to be a hardcore PS fan, well I just liked the diverse range and most of the games that I wanted seemed to be coming out on the PS2, Pro Evo Soccer, MGS and many more. The X-Box has been around for a few years now its no new kid on the block and this game certainly isn?t either being one of the X-Box?s big launch games you may think that it would be somewhat dated by now, well guess what, nope it still managed to amaze ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Perfect dark for the X Box (1764 words)

Halo the new amazing game for X Box For the sake of brevity, and in the interests of getting straight to the meat of the game itself, the back story of Halo can be summed up in as a few a words as these: Mankind is up a creek, you are their last hope. Don't for one minute think that is as simple as this game gets…this ain't no Doom (although it does bear similarities) - the plot was kept so insultingly simple in this review in order that the game itself could be discussed in more depth. If you want a more detailed summation of the pre-game story, my esteemed colleague, Bon has detailed it more in his preview on this very site. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Halo (Xbox): FPS Heaven. (554 words)
by - written on 23/02/03 (Very useful, 200 readings)
Rating:

Simply put, Halo is the most immersive FPS I've played since Goldeneye soaked up what must have been thousands of hours of my time - and what a long time ago that seems like now. Bungie deserves all the acclaim it will rightly get for creating a FPS with such an immersive storyline, mesmerising graphics, top-notch controls (even on X-Box's somewhat bulky pad) and what stunned me more than anything : the intelligence of the foes you face. Never before have I faced a situation in a game where I had to plan so strategically which enemy to take out first, whether or not I'll need a grenade to help me, and which gun I should equip to help the ...  Read the complete review
