Advantages: Good gunplay, driving sections are fun, you get a jetpack!
Disadvantages: Not as good as EON, no co op missions
James Bond From Russia With Love is an action game for the Playstation 2 and Xbox developed by EA games.
The storyline follows that of the classic movie starring Sean Connery as James Bond as he is sent to meet a Russian spy who says she will defect if she gets to meet the legendary 007 but is really an agent for SPECTRE which have been renamed in this game to OCTOPUS. You go on a high octane adventure with the goal of destroying the OCTOPUS group who are equally determined to take down James!
The gameplay seems to have taken a leaf from the previous game Everything or Nothing, James is controllable in the third person perspective allowing you to get a good look at the Sean Connery model they have recreated which is very accurate. You can lock on to targets and then you can use the analog to aim a little more precisely and get headshots. You can also get in close to some enemies for some basic melee combat.
There are also some cool sections where you take control of James as he is flying around on a jetpack while shooting things with its rocket launcher. You also get to take control of the gadget laden Aston Martin DB5 and tear around the city streets while blowing everything up that gets in your way! The car handling is superb and it is fun to drive around especially with the allure of the guns on your car!
While the game does contain a basic multiplayer mode with several modes of deathmatch and team deathmatch they have included including a fun jetpack mode! The excellent co op missions that were so good in Everything or Nothing don't make a return sadly.
The graphics are good with a particularly impressive James Bond character model and Sean Connery returning to voice the superspy.
From Russia with Love is a good action game, it just doesn't try to do anything new and it leaves out the excellent co op missions that were found in Everything or Nothing.
Summary: A good Bond video game.
