... you simply need to land on a grindable area and you will automatically begin to grind. Graffiti is applied by pressing the right trigger, assuming you have some spray cans (which can be picked up along your route). There are five graffiti sizes, ranging from super-small to extra large. The larger the graffiti, the more you've got to spray. Tricks can be performed during grinds or when you get big air by pressing X or Y. You don't get to choose which tricks are performed, you just gotta hope they're cool. And most ...more

Premium Review Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox): Jet Set Radio Future (1864 words)

Jet Set Radio Future is the sequel to the beloved DC game, Jet Grind Radio. As part of the GG's, an inline skating gang, you grind around the futuristic Tokyo of 2024, tagging specific areas of the city. The original title featured some impressive graphics and started the cel-shaded game craze. It offered fast gameplay, an incredible soundtrack, and plenty of attitude. After spending twenty hours with this game, I can firmly say that JSRF carries on the tradition. Features * Twenty-four playable characters * Thirty songs by Russel Simins, the Latch Brothers (featuring Mike D), and more * Four-player competitive battles at 60 ...  Read the complete review

Jet Set Radio Future Developed by: Sega and Smilebit Year: 2002 Jet Set Radio Future is the final in a series of three comic book based ideas about gangs of skating graffiti artists releasing the soul to the streets, trying to avoid being arrested, and stopping the president of a multi million doll? Err? yen empire. This final games uses twelve characters, as opposed to the original 10, and is exclusive to the X-Box, instead of the Dreamcast and Game Boy. :~*~PLOT~*~: You?re a member (which one is up to you) of the hottest Rudie (skater) gang of the moment, the GGs. Premium Review Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox): There's something to please everyone! (2375 words)

During the glorious era of the Dreamcast, many wonderful and unique games were released for the system. The games were so popular that many have been and are being re-released for other systems, such as Sonic Adventure 2 as well as Phantasy Star Online and Skies of Arcadia for the Gamecube, or sequels being made for them. Such was the case of Jet Set Radio. A unique game in a league of its own in which the player took on the role of a gang known as the GG's, a rebel gang at war with rival gangs to prove who's best through graffiti wars. The main goal however, was to stop the Rokkaku, an evil organization led by tyrant Goji from taking over all of modern Japan! ...  Read the complete review

A few years back Sega released Jet Set Radio to critical acclaim. In fact, many said that it was one of Sega's best offerings on the now obsolete Dreamcast console. The game was a fountain of original ideas and it also set a new graphical standard for console games with its eye-popping cel-shading technique. So then, a couple of years on and here we are in the space year 2002. The Dreamcast is dead and Sega is now a software only company, but what of the Jet Set Radio series? Well, a prequel to the game has been created for the Xbox that promises to build on the general formula of the original whilst generally expanding on the concept as a whole, not to ...  Read the complete review

I approached this game as a non-gamer, I had found Halo a beautiful and intriguing game but just too difficult for me. JSRF is completely different! From the beginning it was very easy to quickly get the hang of the game and to produce some flashy, satisfying tricks. The basic premise is an 'arcade' game which sees the gang of rollerbladers skating around a futuristic Tokyo using grafitti to overcome the Poison Jam gang and the corporate police. The game creates a number of different ways for you to engage with it; you can complete tasks, learn new tricks or just skate around knocking over pedestrians who cry such complaints as "That's ...  Read the complete review
