When this game was originally released in 2003 it was one of the most anticipated games to be brought out at the time. In terms of gameplay this racing driving game is very addictive and has plenty to offer fans of this game type.
Midnight Club II is very fast and furious in style and offers the players the chance to hit the streets and race cars and eventually bikes. The three cities that players advance through in this game are vast and give the player plenty of background details and traffic to get in the way of your car.
The Career mode in this game involves you heading on to the streets to find other racers to challenge. After you beat the first opponent you progress through the other famed racers in the city. You get to unlock their cars each time you win as well. The other opponents don't just stand around waiting for you to race against them. They are also driving around themselves and you have to search them out as they won't find you.
The races are then either standard races where you just compete to reach the checkpoint first or there are mixed checkpoint races where you have to run around the city and try to hit all the checkpoints before the other racers do. There are a load of back alleys and other shortcuts scattered throughout.
Some of the races are just against one other character, while others have you racing against several characters. The police also play a role in alot of the challenges and call for backup and put down roadblocks for you at every corner or turn. There are even police helicopters that track you with their spotlight.
The other version of this game is the arcade mode which allows you to use things that you've unlocked like cars etc. The first option you can select is Cruise, which allows racers to simply ride around the city. It really helps to master the skills you need for the game and learn each city you're in. 'Circuit' offers different races and finally 'battle' offers a chance to battle against other racers in mini-games.
The sense of speed in this version makes the game what it is as it's very realistic and true to life. This makes the game worth playing and gives it great replay value.
The challenge level of the game is good too. After the first few races the challenges get more difficult and can become quite tough to win the first time.
Overall, "Midnight Club II" greatly impressed me. It provided thrills, great control, solid challenge level and fantastic depth to the gameplay. A definite recommendation.
This game is a racing game that has two careers that are the LA career and the Tokeyo carrer.
First of all the Tokeyo career is locked until the LA carrer is completed 95%. The careers consist of racing around the streets with other people that arte in the area. The game has a HUD that you can activate to see what objectives you need to meet. After a mission or a race is complete you will earn money which you can buy new cars or improve your other car/s.
Both of the careers take a really long time to complete and have a veriaty of different types of races such as tournements and single lap races ect.
The cars you can unlock in the game include the following;
Audi R8 (2008)
BOSS 302 (1969)
