OutRun has to be class as an old skool classic. When it was first was released back in 1986, there was no better driving game around at the time.Now we have Outrun 2 for the XBOX.

The original was an addictive game to play, with its checkpoint system that made you strive to reach your next checkpoint and extend the race.Currently the is no shortage of quality racers for the XBOX, so where does it rank against the current crop in this day and age ? Read on…

If you remember the 1980’s fondly, then there will be a nostalgia factor. The graphics have had a complete overall and look bright and slick, and you are able to have more interaction with today’s game than its 1986 original.
The most interesting thing about Outrun2 is that it has hardly changed at all from the original. Developers Sega have keep that feel almost exactly like the original.
Even the music has been remixed and you race to tweaked up versions of the original tunes. Graphically is where it has obviously changed and fans will appreciate this new bright vibrant version of the original.You are kept on your toes with plenty of modes to play through.

There are 15 tracks altogether and the tracks are incredibly detailed and look extremely good. You also get 8 beautiful looking Ferraris to rip round the tracks with. Also included is a mission mode with in excess of 100 missions to complete. These will enable you to unlock the special features.The best feature of Outrun 2 is that it is on XBOX live, enabling you to race against people from all over the world online.

Each race can have up to 8 players to race against. If you like, you can keep free slots for your friends within a race incase you want to race the same players again. Both this as well as the mission mode give Outrun2 the depth of gameplay that will keep you coming back for more.

To sum up, Outrun2 is an excellent game, and a must for anyone who remembers the original. The game has been updated to a high level and the game play modes included will ensure you get your moneys worth. Take a look, You wont be disappointed.
