The main thing I didn't like about Rocky was that it brings nothing new to the table, it's pretty basic and can get boring at times. It's a mediocre game at best. However, what is enjoyable, although done a couple of times before, is training with Rocky to build up his stats this makes the game feel less linear and also involves you more with the storyline, which basically j...more

Premium Review Rocky (Xbox): Solid as a Rock (559 words)

Rating:

Introduction Yet another game/movie tie-in? Clearly this is where the money lies for games developers, as invariably the copies will be flying off the shelves regardless of whether the game is a star or a lemon. so how does xbox rocky fare? Reasonably well actually, and without being outstanding, the game is very polished and includes nearly all if not more than expected in terms of locations, characters and of course the definitive Rocky soundtrack to mention several of the game's attributes. Game modes Several game modes are available to choose from, whether you want a quick one fight blast, a knockout ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Can you go the distance with ROCKY? (1060 words)

Rocky has always been a well loved, or well loathed film series, that you could either say was great use of a basic, chump to champ story line, or a over worked clieched pile of crap. I stick with the first comment, as i am a big fan of the first 4 Rocky films, the fifth im not to bothered about, the others are great. I have always been a film fan, and a gaming fan, and the rokcy films have some excellent fights with over exadurated punches and hits that look brilliant, from the whipping of the boxers head, to the large amounts of sweat and blood that go flying from there face, its excellent. When i heard about a ROCKY game being made, well i though this is ...  Read the complete review

Rocky, a name that makes people shout ?Adriene? at the top of their voices and do strange italian-american accents. Yes, the game of the film has finally been made for the next generation consoles and what a game it is! Boxing Clever ------------- Until now, boxing games have been ok, but nothing spectacular. There were comedy games and realistic simulations, usually based on famous boxers such as Mike Tyson (without the ear biting mode though). Rocky takes these two different styles and mixes them together in a big boxing glove to produce one of the most entertaining and playable boxing games ever. Choices, Choices --------------- From ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Become Rocky (177 words)

For a boxing game, Rocky is pretty good, but for a movie-based game, Rocky is very good indeed. However, that isn't saying much as usually they are dreadful. In Rocky, you can have a quick fight against an opponent of your choice (there are unlockable characters to fight and play as also), play in a tournament or go straight for the career mode. All of them are pretty fun but the campaign is pretty easy with very limited AI.
