Released 2003 by Neversoft and Activision Tony Hawks Underground is another great fun skating game packed with hours of single player challenges and multiplayer fun.

Player Modes
*Story Mode*- when you start a new game up in story mode you begin your career as an upcoming skater that is not known or famous in any way and then you earn respect and get more famous by completing goals and doing loads of mad and hard tricks. You start this story in New Jersey in a small neighbourhood and eventually end up famous and a pro skater when you have the story completed. I found this mode fun to play and in some parts quite challenging. Though in some places goals were very repetitive.

*Multiplayer Mode*- this is when you and a friend compete to do the best tricks to get the best score, these games are fun and competitive and include:

Trick Attack- Which basically means that whoever scores the most points in a set time limit wins.

Combo Mambo- In this game the player with the biggest combo during the time limit wins

Score Challenge- In this game there is a desired score set and then players must work towards that score as fast as they can to win.

Slap- Skaters in this game collide and the fastest person in the collision gets the 'slap' the person with the most slaps wins the game.

King of the Hill- Players search for the crown that is hidden somewhere in the level and then try to keep it for as long as possible, the crown can be stolen by other players by simply touching them in the game, the person who holds the crown at the end of the time limit wins.

Graffiti- each player is given a spray can to tag different objects in the level, the person with the most tagged items at the end of the time limit wins.

Fire fight- You can shoot fireballs from the bottom of your skateboard, the more tricks you do and the higher your combo the bigger your fireball will be, you must shoot fireballs at other players to knock them out, last man standing wins.
Goal Attack (system link only)- Play against other players to see who can complete the goals in story mode or goals you have made up yourself first.

Capture the flag (system link only)- form teams with your friends and start a game to capture each others team flags and then bring them back to your base, watch your flags too because the team with the other teams flags at the end of the game wins.
Horse-Do tricks and score the highest, take it in turns to see who can beat one other, the person with the lowest score gets a letter e.g. H and the person to complete a word first loses.

Free Skate- No rules, no scores just the fun and practice of skating.

Some features on this game include:
Create a park- this is a feature where you can create your own skate park and then play in it and save it for future use.

Create a deck- this is a feature where you can create your own skateboard deck to use in gameplay.

Create a skater- this is a feature where you can create your own skate boarder, you can chose what they look like and what they wear etc.

Create a goal- this is a feature where you can create your own goals just like the goals in story mode. You can then show them to other players in systems link up.

Create a trick- Create your very own tricks and play them in this mode, you can chose which buttons control which moves and even name them yourself.

My opinion
I think this game is great fun with lots of challenging and wacky stunts involved. I think that its fun to make up your own characters, stunts and skaters etc. and that this game is a great buy if you are into skate boarding or just want to have fun doing different tricks and competing against your friends. This game can get a little bit repetitive sometimes on story mode and for this reason I cannot bring myself to give it 5 stars.

Summary: This is a really great game
