Advantages: The usual fun weapons are available

Disadvantages: Nothing special

In my view previous games in the Worms series have been consistent without being spectacular and with Worms Forts Under Siege you basically get more of the same.

This time round the objective of the game remains pretty much the same with you attempting to beat up the opposition teams of worms however now you have the added complication of having to first build and then defend your own fort.

By building up your base you do get access to a whole range of different weapons that you can fire from the top of the towers and as with previous versions of Worms the creators have been at their creative best in coming up with new and funnier weapons, animal lovers might not appreciate the exploding sheep but I certainly find them amusing.

One of the main problems I have found with this game is the fact that because you have to stay close to your base in order to build it rarely do you get to enjoy the close up fighting which actually makes previous versions of Worms entertaining instead in this version you find yourself having to use long range weapons which are quite difficult to master as you need to take into account range, wind and distance and on the whole this can lead to rather long battles which in the end became a bit boring and detracted from the overall game play.

Visually the game is impressive and the environments that you do battle in are easy to navigate around although it does take a bit of effort to track down your enemies. There is a single player campaign mode, a trials mode and up to four players can play the multi player mode however there is not an online option for this game.

My advice would be to rent rather than buy but for those that do want to buy then it currently retails for £7.49 in the new and used section of Amazon.

I still think the original 2D version is the superior one. When it went 3d it took the fun out.

Tells me very little about the game itself.
