Advantages: Career control, almost make-your-own-story like.

Disadvantages: The matches suck. Badly. The actual wrestling is horrible.

This is quite possibly one of the greatest Wrestling Games of all time... as long as you dont actually wrestle the matches on it.

In terms of storymode, and allowing the player to choose what they want to do before or during a match, with cutscenes and so on, the possibilities were endless. We finally had a game that allowed us to do what we wanted.

During the storymode, which is up-to 4 Players, I might add, you have many, many things to do during the show. You control what the wrestler will do. So, for example, you can go into Kanes Locker Room and, if your feeling brave, steal something from his bag. This, sometimes, allows you to unlock new items, such as alternate attires. If you dont, you either fail, or come away with Kanes dirty Laundry...

Other things include Interfear in the match in progress, Call out a Wrestler, Manipulate a wrestler, select a manager, support someone... all kinds of things.

The CAW mode was another well thought out feature. Before Create an Entrance became popular on the latest games, you had that feature on this game. However, this game allowed you to do many more things, from customising what colour the lights flashed to the flashing patterns to customising your own TitanTron. (The Entrance Video)

Sadly, the game fell flat on its face with gameplay. Slowness is a key factor here. And the moves performed werent as smooth as they should have been. Almost robotic, some might say.

The roster is jam packed with talent from Low Card WWE, to the men who made their name in WCW. Well over 50 wrestlers on this game, including the females of WWE. Another plus point over the newer wrestling games.

I, myself, still play this game with pals some nights. The backstage antics and alliance forming is such that it keeps you hooked for no real reason.

Its a shame the gameplay itself lacked when you had actually stepped into the ring.

THQ had a winning formula that they discarded, and many in this world wonder why...

Summary: A great game if you dont actually wrestle the matches.
