This is located in 520-7th Avenue, on the outskirts of Downtown Calgary and about a 10-15 minute gentle walk from Calgary Tower and the shopping areas of town. The location is two minutes walk from the nearby C-Train (this is a tram) stop which runs through downtown. This stop is the outermost limit of the centre zone that allows free travel, which is extremely useful because wandering around the city gets tiring after a while! This part of town is rather rough. ... ve stayed at this hostel on two separate occassions now, and have really enjoyed both stays! It really is a great little hostel, and the price is very reasonable as well. Both times I stayed in the 12 bed mixed dorm, costing about £7 a night. The rooms weren t too noisy as most people made an effort to keep the noise down. There was a safe for each guest, and you programme in your own code to ensure security, this was really handy for our peace of mind! There was an en-suite toilet and bathroom in our room which was handy, if a bit dirty by the time 11 others had used them! ... September, I stayed at the Banana Bungalow on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles during a short trip to see a bit of California, and to have a bit of a break before University begins. The hostel is also known as "The Vibe Hotel" and both titles appear on the rather small, easily missable sign that is out on the pavement in front of the premesis - the building itself does not really have any sign to give away what kind of establishment it is, let alone what it is called.
