cezzybunny Youth Hostels in Moscow: ... I was last in Moscow, I ended up staying at Comrade Hostel in the Kitai-Gorod area of the city. A bunk bed in a 10 bed dorm costs £13 at the moment, which is relatively cheap by Moscow standards! The hostel is run by an extremely helpful and knowledgeable young Russian called Dennis, who provides no end of useful information. During my stay he took myself and some other travellers out for authentic Georgian food...

bkecky Hostel Caulaincourt Square (Paris, France)
... stayed at this hostel for four days a while back whilst I was searching for a Paris apartment. To be honest I booked it because it was one of the cheaper ones and it didn t seem to have any horrendous reviews such as cockroaches or damp sheets. This was my first time in a proper hostel dorm so bear that in mind when you read the review! I arrived in the afternoon at the hostel, which is easily accessible by the metro to Lamarck-Caulaincourt. Actually I say easy but this metro station is one of the ones that takes the most hard work. I arrived at the station with backpack and suitcase in tow and followed the exit signs. I saw a lot of people queuing for the lift but tho...

bkecky Le Village Hostel (Paris, France)
... a last minute decision to head up to Paris I booked this hostel on the morning at about 10am before I was to arrive at 3pm. I was a little worried that perhaps I would get there with no bed but luckily I was pleasantly surprised. It had reasonably good reviews from other people on the site I booked with and it was also located in Montmarte, which is an easy area to get to and also has lots of shops nearby to get food and basics. This was important as it was self-catered with the exception of breakfast. So we arrive at the hostel and we had booked a private room for two for 160 euros for two nights. To me this seemed a bit steep considering it was a hostel but compared...

albacookie The J. Ira & Nicki Harris Family Hostel
... can be a struggle to find affordable hotel rooms in big cities especially if you are travelling alone and when I went in April 2009 the exchange rate was around $1.40 to £1 making it even more expensive. Hostelling isn t everybody s cup of tea but is definetly worth considering as an option. The J. Ira and Nikki Harris Family Hostel is part of the HI (hostelling international) network. It is located in "The Loop" - the main downtown area of Chicago - in a building dating from 1886. There are 500 beds in single sex rooms ranging between 6 and 10 beds, most have bathrooms and showers ensuite others have shared facilities. Each bed has a locker allocated to it ...
