... is a working hostel. Most people who stay here are working in local farms and packing sheds in the local area. I stayed here in June 2008. Location: In the centre of Bundaberg. Within walking distance of most places in the city centre, or a bus ride to the local shopping centre or beaches. It was a bit of a trek from the bus station. They do offer a pick-up service, but you need to let them know in advance. Hostel: The hostel used to be a police station, and the dorms are old cells. ... visited Hong Kong in the summer of 2009 while exploring the Far East. Like any student my bank balance is often less than healthy, so when I visited Hong Kong staying in Youth Hostels was my only option. I stayed in the Ah Shan Hostel for approximately £10 a night. I choose it because of its good rating on the TripAdvisor website. I think the 1 star my fellow reviewers have given is a bit harsh, you do not go to these hostels expecting 5 star luxury, in Hong Kong that will be hundreds if not thousands of pounds a night. ... than the City Hostel, I m reviewing the branch of the Shelter Hostel called Jordaan, which is in the still relatively central area of Jordaan in Amsterdam. I originally booked the hostel from one of those hostel reservation sites (a predecessor to hostelbookers.com), I looked for the cheapest option in Amsterdam and paid little attention to the details, only later did I realise I had booked myself in at a Christian Hostel. I have to say, I was a little nervous about this and how it would mix with my enjoyment of death and black metal!?
