Hostel Lika (Zagreb, Croatia):
... Lika is situated in Zagreb, Croatia within walking distance of the coach and train station, and spitting distance from the tram line. Its easy to get to, but only if you look down. We made the mistake of not doing this and ended up walking around for ages. This is cause there are footprints painted onto the floor from the tram line to the hostel doors- once we realised this it was really helpful to find again ... Old Town Hostel (Riga, Latvia) ... ve stayed at this hostel on two separate occassions now, and have really enjoyed both stays! It really is a great little hostel, and the price is very reasonable as well. Both times I stayed in the 12 bed mixed dorm, costing about £7 a night. The rooms weren t too noisy as most people made an effort to keep the noise down. There was a safe for each guest, and you programme in your own code to ensure security, this was really handy for our peace of mind! There was an en-suite toilet and bathroom in our room which was handy, if a bit dirty by the time 11 others had used them! Youth Hostels in Moscow ... I was last in Moscow, I ended up staying at Comrade Hostel in the Kitai-Gorod area of the city. A bunk bed in a 10 bed dorm costs £13 at the moment, which is relatively cheap by Moscow standards! The hostel is run by an extremely helpful and knowledgeable young Russian called Dennis, who provides no end of useful information. During my stay he took myself and some other travellers out for authentic Georgian food in a random area of Moscow, and also booked a train ticket for me using his personal credit card so I could make sure I got the train I wanted. Hostel Caulaincourt Square (Paris, France) ... met and it paled in comparison to the other Paris hostel I reviewed here. It is cheap but for me I thought that there was not a lot of effort put into maintaining the place possibly because the clientele were very young. There were quite a few English there and also Germans and Polish. I didn t meet any French or anyone from outside of Europe. My biggest disappointment was the couldn t-care-less attitude from the staff and I don t like being told to go to bed from the recreation area when I m old enough to decide myself when I want to go to bed!
