Advantages: Cheap, Close to amenities, Free pancake brekkie!!

Disadvantages: Dirty, Noisy

My first impressions of this hostel werent good, and nor did it change while I was staying there. I only stayed there a few nights, as I didnt really like the place. It's cheap, which was a good thing as I was on a budget.

It was loud throughout the night, the whole place was dirty, the laundry room was really small for the size of the hostel, and the staff werent over enthusiastic. A good thing was, that the staff gave us a tour of the hostel when we arrived. This is very rare, as most budget travellers will be aware.

The area it was in wasnt good either. Even though Hollywood is meant to be glitsy and glamourous, it isnt. It's dangerous, and dirty. There wee some REALLY wierd people around.

I think they do all rooms from single to 8-share. I was in a 6 share. It was VERY untidy, and quite smelly. But it had ensuite, so it wasnt like in some hostels where the whole building has to share communal showers. Also, they sell earplugs there... so you can imagine the noise at night. I think they are about 75cents.

The post office is only a short walk away, for any of your needs. BUT the customer service isnt great, and it took me over half an hour to get anything done, and it isnt even a relativly big post office. It's also a short walk away from Klasky Gsupo building - the makers of Rugrats, the Pantages theatre, Capital records building, and the cinema (of which I cant remember the name of) where they have all the big Hollywood premieres.

There is a Fast Food restaurant near by called 'Jack In The Box.' It's cheap... bascially its like McDonalds. I'm tlkaing too much about the area now, and not the hostel.

In the mornings there are free pancakes.. you have to make them yourselves (how rude!!) and also there is free tea and coffee all day. I guess thats a good thing.

You can access lockers if you need them. There are small ones for passports etc, and a big cupboard if you wanted to
put your backpack into storage.

It has two internet stations there, but they were quite expensive, and there was only one phone that could accept incoming calls. It was good to talk to people though as there is a bar upstairs, but I couldnt drink as I wasnt old enough.

It's a good place to stay for a few days, as its close to Universal Studios, and other such activities, but I wouldnt go there again. Stay away!!

What about the rooms, what about the exact prices? A bit more info would be useful indeed.
