Newest Review: ... We paid 40 euros per night, which is pretty good value for a couple sharing. The kitchen facilities were well equipped, although could have done with a good scrub up. They apparently were closed each lunchtime for cleaning, but I couldn't see much of that going on. The hostel did have a canteen, but as we visited out of season it wasn't open. There were a couple of vending machines, but these were out of order. There are a couple of well equipped supermarkets (shops!!) in nearby Laragh, which provided everything we needed for our two night stay. Glendalough is situated on the Wicklow Mountains, the Youth Hostel in this quaint village based around a waterfall and ancient monastery is a good cheap alternative to hotels and B & B's. We stayed in this hostel in mid February, on a walking holiday in Ireland. We spent two nights here. The accomodation was nice and simple - a double bed, basic cupboard and an esuite bathroom. We paid 40 euros per night, which is pretty good value for a couple sharing. The kitchen facilities were well equipped, although could have done with a good scrub up.
